Freed From is Launching
A few years ago, our founder, Charlie, tried a non-alcoholic wine called Norah’s Valley that blew his mind. It had been an uninspiring few years of mocktails and soda water since he’d decided he’d drunk enough for a lifetime.
This was different. Not a polite, “oh that’s… nice” kind of surprised. A full-on “wait, this is crazy, how can this be?….if this exists… what else have we been missing?” And so, a global quest began.
If hidden winemakers were producing this level of quality without alcohol… what else was out there?
We all know alcohol-free beer has come a long way but wine, spirits, and elixirs? What was possible?
Charlie built a team to find out. What started as a passion project quickly became a full-blown treasure hunt for flavour. Hidden vineyards reimagining wine. Artisan alchemists crafting spirits and elixirs. All with less than 0.5% ABV – about the same as a ripe banana. And that’s when things escalated.
Since late 2024, the team has searched high and low, trade shows, tasting rooms, secret orders, whispered recommendations, vineyards you’d struggle to find on a map. If it existed, we tried it. Nearly 9,000 creations later (yes, really), every single one had been tasted and assessed.
Then came a simple thought: “We should probably get a second opinion.” So in 2025, we assembled The Independent Panel, a seriously impressive group of Master Sommeliers, top-tier mixologists, and flavour experts. People who really know what they’re talking about. For the wines, we gave them no labels. No backstories. No hints. Just the drinks. They relied purely on their experience, balance, structure, depth, and flavour to evaluate and curate an extraordinary shortlist.
Then we did the same for spirits and elixirs, this time working with equally heavyweight mixologists and flavour specialists, inviting them not only to grade, but to create. (We had a lot of fun with that part.)
What emerged from this process is what we’re most proud of: A carefully curated collection of non-alcoholic wines, spirits, and elixirs, each one tested, debated, and deemed exceptional. We say they Made The Grade™. Right now, only 3.7% of everything we tasted has made it in. No fillers. No “that’ll do.” Just genuinely brilliant drinks.
Now it’s time to share what we’ve found. This isn’t just for people who don’t drink. It’s for everyone. Maybe you’re saying not this round, not tonight, not this month or never again. It doesn’t matter how many times you have been around the sun; Freed From’s list of discoveries is for everyone. No ABV is no longer an opt-out. It is not a compromise.

Our initial journey...
During our first year, The Freed From Company embarked on a remarkable journey exploring the world’s finest non-alcoholic beverages using a Team of up to twenty professional tasters and researchers spanning the globe. We reviewed and sampled over 7,500 non-alcoholic wines, spirits, and elixirs, in our quest for the finest.
In March of 2025, we founded The Independent Panel (“T.I.P”). Prestigiously made up of Professional & Master Sommeliers, Wine Experts, Mixologists, Drinks Professionals and Expert Producers, we asked them to perform a thorough and comprehensive review our best global alcohol-free drinks discoveries.
From these expert’s tireless work during Wine and Spirits tastings respectively, we are delighted to now have a list of absolute gems that have ‘Made the Grade™’.

Freed Distribution
At the beginning of 2025 we set up a company called Freed Distribution Limited which will offer to key producers and suppliers the opportunity to import their products into the UK and sell them to trade. Freed From Limited is our retail business. We are buying now for our distribution company and are aiming to import and also open our UK retail company to the public in the third quarter of 2025 in the UK.

You open the hotel minibar looking for something exciting that’s non-alcoholic and, however beautiful, luxurious or memorable the room may be, too often the experience disappoints. The choices can feel predictable. Forgettable, even.
That’s about to change.
For years, Freed From has been on a global search — a treasure hunt for the world’s most exceptional non-alcoholic drinks and elixirs. So far, we have sampled and graded nearly 9,000 creations, so you don’t have to. Now, some of our finest discoveries from the prestigious MADE THE GRADE™ collection have been curated into the Freed From Hotel Dry Minibar Box and placed directly into your hotel room. With the permission of the hotel, of course.
This may well be the first of its kind.
Twelve of the most extraordinary non-alcoholic spirits and elixirs we could find anywhere in the world, carefully curated into one beautifully crafted box. How did we find them? And who are we to judge?
Well, if you have seen our first film, you will know part of the story. Let’s just say we have been exacting, determined and guided by our Independent Panel of Experts before awarding MADE THE GRADE™ to any drink we review. So far, only around 3.7% have reached that standard.
These are drinks with real depth. Real complexity. Real character. And no hangover.
And then there is the box itself.
Beautifully designed and hand-finished, it has been created to complement the pedigree, personality and atmosphere of the room it sits within. Not an afterthought, but part of the experience itself.
There is a wonderful Danish word: morgenfrisk. It describes the feeling of waking up clear-headed, refreshed and well in the morning. We love that word. In many ways, it sits at the heart of Freed From.
Because non-alcoholic should never feel like a compromise. And perhaps the minibar should no longer be one either.
